WIMBERLEY BAND STUDENTS NAMED TO THE

Congratulations to all 16 Wimberley Band Students that auditioned at Smithville High School on Saturday for the ATSSB All Region Band.  Wimberley High School took 11 chairs in the All Region Bands with 4 students advancing to Area with a chance for one of the All State Bands.  Senior, Chris Gooch was selected last month to represent Wimberley High School on Bass Trombone in the All State Jazz Ensemble. 

The students that auditioned on Saturday were:  Samuel Floreani, Brantley Morris, Nolan Strain, Robin Forbes, and Robert Bachardy.

The students that were chosen to represent Wimberley in the All Region Concert Band were:

Senior, Carolynn Brown – 7^th Chair Flute

Senior, Kristyn Crowe – 6^th Chair Clarinet

Sophomore, Janice Russell – 3^rd Chair Tenor Saxophone

Senior, Hannah Bryan – 6^th Chair French Horn

The students that were chosen to represent Wimberley in the All Region Symphonic Band were:

Junior, Bryan Colca – 16^th Chair Clarinet

Junior, Hasitha Dharmasiri – 11^th Chair Clarinet

Freshman, Anna Roenigk – 1^st Baritone Sax – Advancing to Area/State Auditions

Sophomore, Sarah Miller – 9^th Chair French Horn

Sophomore, Emma Gibson – 7^th Chair Trombone – Advancing to Area/State Auditions

Freshman, Aaron Willis – 2^nd Chair Percussion – Advancing to Area/State Auditions

Freshman, Sarah Gnass – 4^th Chair Percussion – Advancing to Area/State Auditions

The students along with all of the Wimberley High School Band students will be in concert Tuesday, December 16^th at 7:00pm in the Lone Star Theater in their annual Winter Concert.  The ATSSB All-Region Concert and Symphonic Bands will be in performance at Texas State University on January 23^rd & 24^th, 2009.
